Virginia Beach, VA – Woman Killed in Car Crash on Governors Way

Virginia Beach, VA (October 10, 2020) – A hit and run accident reported on Friday evening claimed one woman’s life in the Virginia Beach area. Just after 8 p.m., on October 9, the Virginia Beach Police Department responded to the scene of an accident on Governors Way.

Reports show that a man was driving through the intersection of Holland Road and Governors Way when he crashed his vehicle into a second vehicle, which was occupied by an adult female. The driver of the suspect vehicle then fled the scene on foot.

Officers responded to the site of the crash and quickly apprehended the fleeing driver. He was transported to a local hospital for the treatment of minor injuries. The female driver was fatally injured in the accident. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

At this time, the Virginia Beach Police Department’s Fatal Crash Team is investigating the accident.
