Virginia Beach, VA – Victims Hurt in Vehicle Accident on I-264 at Lynnhaven Pkwy

Written by: Virginia Beach Injury Law

Virginia Beach, VA (June 18, 2022) – On the evening of June 18, Saturday night, a multiple-vehicle crash at mile marker 20.0 on westbound Interstate 264 shut down a large stretch of the busy highway.

The Virginia State Police were sent to the scene just before 11:35 p.m. A two-vehicle incident occurred in the westbound lanes of Interstate 264 near the Lynnhaven Parkway exit, according to officials.

A passenger automobile collided with another vehicle in the right lane of traffic as the driver tried to merge. Although the actual number of casualties is unclear, VSP police did add that they think a third car was involved. Those who were injured were either treated on the spot or sent to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

VSP has released a statement announcing that an investigation into the traffic accident has begun.

We send our best wishes for a full recovery to all who have been injured as a consequence of this accident.

Injuries Recorded in Virginia Beach Multiple-Driver Wrecks

In the prior year, around one thousand individuals were killed in motor vehicle accidents in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Sixty-five thousand more individuals have been severely injured as a result of these incidents. Worse, victims often have long-lasting physical and mental ramifications of the trauma they underwent.

Worse, the majority of vehicle accidents in Virginia are triggered by one of the following irresponsible driving behaviors:

  • More than half of all fatal accidents in the Commonwealth of Virginia are caused by excessive speed.
  • At least one-third of fatal car accidents in the state are caused by drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Distracted driving, such as sending or reading text messages while behind the wheel, is an additional factor of significance.

While you should make every effort to guarantee your and others’ safety while driving, you cannot always rely on other motorists to do the same. Unfortunately, regardless of the underlying causes of these incidents, tens of thousands of individuals are rendered unable of returning to work or living their usual lives.

The vast majority of the time, these individuals are in need of ongoing medical care and rehabilitation that may last for a number of months or even years. As a direct result of this, victims can be required to pay tens of thousands of dollars out of their own pockets.

As a result, if you are hurt in a car accident that was not your fault, you can have the legal right to financial recompense for your suffering.
