Portsmouth, VA (October 12, 2020) – An automobile accident reported on Friday evening claimed one person’s life and left two others injured. Just after 8:10 p.m., on October 9, the Portsmouth Police Department responded to the scene of a crash on Jefferson Avenue.
Reports from authorities show that three pedestrians, who were identified as two adults and one juvenile, were walking in the 2200 block of Jefferson Avenue. For unknown reasons, the trio was struck by a vehicle.
All three pedestrians sustained very serious injuries in the accident. The three injured parties were rendered aid at the scene before being rushed to an area hospital for treatment. Authorities confirmed that one adult, identified only as a female, succumbed to her injuries after arriving.
At this time, the police in Portsmouth are investigating the accident.
