Norfolk, VA – I-64 Site of Injury Auto Accident at 4th View St

Written by: Virginia Beach Injury Law

Norfolk, VA (June 23, 2022) – On Thursday evening, June 23, the Norfolk Police Department received a call in connection with a multi-vehicle accident that occurred on a local highway.

One of the first agencies on the scene of the collision was the Norfolk Fire & Rescue Department, followed by the Norfolk Police Department. Emergency personnel report that the incident took place at 11:25 p.m. on the I-64 eastbound lanes close to Exit 273 for 4th View Street. Despite the fact that the cause of the incident is unknown, the NPD claimed that one hour after it happened, all lanes were essentially blocked.

At least one victim was transported by Norfolk EMTs to a local hospital for additional treatment; however, the extent of that victim’s injuries is yet unclear.

Per the most recent accessible police records, the investigation into the events before the occurrence is continuing. Anyone who saw the accident or has information that might help the investigation should immediately call the NPD.

Our thoughts and best wishes are with the injured, and we hope for their full and rapid recovery.

Virginia State Multiple-Car Crashes

Over a thousand people lose their lives in car accidents every year in the state of Virginia, according to the data of Virginia’s traffic experts and analysts. In addition to that, more than 64,000 people have had injuries that endanger their lives as a direct result of these tragedies.

The degree of the victim’s injuries will decide whether or not they will endure long-term bodily or mental suffering as a result of the auto accident. Those who have suffered severe wounds, including traumatic brain injuries, significant bone fractures, spinal cord injuries, and other catastrophic wounds, are more likely to need long-term medical care. Regrettably, victims who have suffered serious trauma may be unable to work for a number of weeks, months, or perhaps for the rest of their lives.

Three of the most common contributors to traffic mishaps include going too fast for conditions, driving while distracted, and getting behind the wheel while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. In other words, no matter how cautiously you drive, there is no way for you to ensure that other drivers will obey the rules of the road and act in a proper manner.
