Chesapeake, VA (November 2, 2021) – Virginia State Police officers are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that closed Interstate 664 southbound on Tuesday evening, November 2.
Officials with the Virginia Department of Transportation said the major accident occurred around 9:45 p.m., close to mile marker 19 and exit 13B to Highway 58 eastbound. A chain reaction to slowing and stopped vehicles resulted in the incident, per officers on the scene.
Chesapeake Fire & Rescue crews provided emergency medical assessment and treatment. Paramedics transported at least one victim to a local medical center via ambulance. EMS reportedly treated that victim for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers have not released further details about the events leading up to the wreck or about the victims involved. Their investigation is ongoing at this time.
